Were planning on camping this weekend for the first time this year and need to put together a rough list of stuff we need. This includes either 2 single or one double blow up bed(s) for my girls of 3 and 5. I was going to get another one of those readybed thingys but they are sooo expensive and really dont review very favourably! Anyone got any recommendations?

We'll need to get the girls sleeping bags too (thus my plan re readybeds!) and I was thinking sleeping pods, pricey but they seem good and warm!! (Camping in Scotland btw!).

We've got the camping weight junior ready beds - not the character ones - and they've been great for camping and sleepovers for my two.

IIRC, they're about £20 each, so cheaper than a sleeping bag and seperate bed.

We got them from Argos - they're in the camping section, not the bedding bit.

we have those self inflating iso-mats and simple decathlon sleeping bags for the dc. we put 3 mats into the dc "bedroom" of the tent to cover the whole floor, no rolling off this way.

Thank you. I do feel like Ive got to reign myself in cos I could go daft with all the cool camping stuff you can get these days but I thought Id make night time a priority! Will look into the things you have suggested. Any thoughts on stoves? We just have a basic burner which takes one kettle or pan at a time but are thinking of upgrading to a double stove given that were staying more than one night this time!

I wouldn't bother upgrading to a double stove - esp if you have a small portable barbecue. We cook all sorts using a barbie and one ring.

But even if you don't, you can do things like couscous in tupperware, bring pasta/potatoes to the boil and leave with lid on while you cook other stuff etc.
