2 nights is plenty for me, feel like have been away but don't have to take loads of clothes and stuff.
Also I much prefer going for 2 nights but a few times each summer rather than a week only one time.

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 09/03/2011 15:06

We will be doing 2 weeks this summerHmm

DuplicitousBitch · 09/03/2011 15:14

2 weeks is good you really get into your stride with it. and also the sleeping gets easier.

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 09/03/2011 15:34

Weekends of 2 or 3 nights.

Summer camp of (usually) 10 nights.

We have always done 3 weeks in the summer, but I am putting my foot down this year and we are doing 2 1/2 Blush!

CoffeeMad · 16/03/2011 10:51

We tend to have lot's of 2 night breaks through the summer. Longest we have been in a tent was 3 nights. It's enough for me and the kids love it!

Nikkid21 · 16/03/2011 21:29

This year I have booked 2 x 2 nights, a 3 nighter, a 9 nighter in the uk which is just a mums and dc's camp and a 12 nighter in the vendee.

I prefer the longer camps as it takes me a while to wind down and chill out.

Lilyloo · 16/03/2011 21:31

I agree the sleeping gets easier the longer you go. The longest we have done is 8 nights , generally do lot's of 2/3 nighters

PinkFondantFancy · 16/03/2011 21:31

Longer camps are good if you're staying in the same place. Once I did 10 nights on a road trip through France and Germany packing up the tent and moving on every night-was amazing but completely exhausting!!! I've got a minimum 2 nights in one place rule now!!

I prefer going for at least 3 nights otherwise it feels like too much hard work . A week or more is good

mummyosaurus · 18/03/2011 20:47

3 - 7 nights. I find all the set up, packing and unpacking a lot of work for just 2 nights. Booked in for a 4 night and a 7 night UK holiday this year, can't wait!

If you go for longer all you really have to take is a few extra clothes. I often do one wash mid week if I really need to.

Ineedalife · 19/03/2011 19:36

Upto a week otherwise we start killing each otherGrin.

Last summer I didn't put the camping stuff away at all, we came and went all through the school hols, it was great and made easy with the pop up tents.

Hoping for a repeat performance this year.

I would love to go for longer but with a teen and a younger one with an ASD it is really hard work. I usually go back to work for a rest in September.Grin

Two weeks- although I find (as another with a couple of AD kids LOL) that staying out gets easier as the transition-stress wears off.

I'd camp for longer happily but Dh is self employed so whilst can manage things from a laptop for a fortnight (we do one week in the middle of nohere sans laptop at Whit) he does actually have to post the stuff he sells at some stage so two weeks is a maximum.

I never do one night; have in the past and it's beyond pointless unless for something special.

This year we have a week, a 2 nighter, a 4 nighter and I cannot remember if I booked ten days or a week for the main one Blush.
