Have spent the last 10 years at Mother Iveys Bay (up to 5 weeks a year) in Cornwall but this year fancy a change Shock. Really looking for something similar in North Wales - fairly quiet, walking distance to the coast with very clean facilities.

Have scoured the internet but seem a bit out of touch and not knowing the area feel possibly a little.....frightened??!!....... of trying something new.

Suppose advice of where not to go would be useful too.

Thanks.

After that response, I'm striking The Willows off my list too, despite having the requisite 2 well-behaved children. How and unprofessional a response to a genuine complaint.

OP - we went to Aberafon a few years ago now, it's a beautiful site. Facilities were a little basic when we went but the friendliness and the beauty of the site more than made up for it.

We are shocked that you think we are rude and unprofessional, the one thing we are continually complimented on is our professionalism and politeness.

If you'd like to read other peoples opinions of us, please do see the reviews on our website.

Our message was not written in response to a complaint. It was merely a response to some rebuttable presumptions: derogatory and vulgar.

As a site that receives 100% positive feedback, ignoring these presumptions would be wrong.

All businesses have a target market and ours is as it states on our website. We are what we advertise. We simply wished to explain our reasons behind our policies, and as a businesses we acknowlege that we may not please all.

We are sorry if what we offer does not suit yourselves.

Extract from a Family review, full review on website

We have been camping for many years and have stayed in acclaimed ,accredited, award winning etc etc sites, however we can safely say that your site has set a new bar height in every area.

From the moment we made our booking we felt completely confident in our selection and when we arrived after a long drive our welcome could not have been warmer.

The entire site is kept immaculate and the attention to detail is a real credit to your both. You made us feel so welcome and we could see how much pride you take.

I can not continue without mentioning the toilet block, it would put many 4 star hotels to shame, modern, clean and well equipped. The views across the bay were stunning, I found myself lost in the views on the way back from the toilet block.

Without doubt this is not only the most wonderful site we have ever staying in, but the area has so much to offer for all. I could not recommend this site enough to give it justice, just to say there is nothing else I have seen that comes close in 20 years of camping.

Thank you so much for making our weekend special and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

  1. I strongly recommend you read up on how to use social media effectively as a business, particularly on how to respond to criticism. You are not doing your brand any favours in these two posts and it is likely to bring far more negative attention to your brand as a result.
  1. Leaping into the middle of a forum conversation without understanding how that particular forum community works = rude and unprofessional.
  1. Being so defensive does not give a good impression of your business = rude and unprofessional.
  1. Not being prepared to say you're sorry for the bad impression people have had before leaping in to correct people is bad practice = rude and unprofessional.
  1. "As a site that receives 100% positive feedback, ignoring these presumptions would be wrong." - clearly you don't have 100% positive feedback as this thread demonstrates. Therefore it is you who are being presumptive = rude and unprofessional.
  1. Cherry picking content from other sites that say how wonderful you are is incredibly bad form. It's the equivalent of standing in the middle of a room, stamping your foot, tossing your hair and yelling "BUT EVERYONE ELSE LOVES ME HOW DARE YOU SAY I'M HORRID" = rude and unprofessional.

This site, as you have stated over and over, doesn't represent your target market. So for goodness sake, smile, lick your wounds and move on before it moves up in google rankings from the extra hits and your actual target market sees your behaviour.

Tyddyn Isaf on Anglesey - immaculate, very friendly owners, loads of space between tents and middle of grassy areas kept clear for playing. Showers etc very clean. Safe for kids, small park and small restaurant/shop (NOT like a commercialised resort!)

5 mins walk down private path to excellent beach.

And no problems welcoming our widowed male friend with his 3 children...
In a very large tent...

Have camped there before, so have several friends. Loved it so much we had a caravan Blush there for a couple of years too Grin

The Willows - I have never ever heard of a 2 or below kid policy. Adult only sites yes. But who are you to say that that 3 well behaved children are going to be noisier than one or two little shits?
I will never stay at your site even though I fit your criteria! And no-one I know would either. And I can assure you, that we make no noise whatsoever.

JemimaMop · 04/04/2011 10:35

I am very Hmm at the idea that 3+ children will be noisier than 2. I know several families with 4 immaculately behaved children, and several families with 2 little shits children who aren't quite so well behaved.

As we have three children The Willows are off our list anyway, but we live in Wales and frequently camp at some very beautiful and welcoming campsites in the area.

I shall be sure to recommend The Willows as the ideal place to stay to all of my friends with two riotous children though Grin
