Anyone got an Outwell Montana? Question re. bedroms

Thinking about getting an Outwell Montana for our family of four.

DCs are only little - 6 weeks and 2 and a bit. So, can the bedrooms be joined together at all? Thinking we'd have one big sleeping area at first, then divide the bedrooms once the DCs get older.

Or, would we all fit in one bedroom to start with? Thinking DD will be in her readybed, and DS in a travel cot for trips this summer.

There are several Monty owners on here.

On the floor plan picture there is a dotted line separating the two bed rooms at the back. That usually indicates a dividing curtain that can be removed or tied back rather than a fixed 'wall', so it looks like you could have one big bedroom at the back if you wanted.

Best bet is to see if your nearest camping shop has (or will have, it's still quite early in the season) one pitched so you can go and have a nose nose around inside.

Superb tent btw. Winner of this years c&cc club best tent awards.

Nose nose is obviously a very focused nose, you know zipping all the zips several times and putting your head fully inside each of the hanging storage pockets.

The bedrooms are comprised of one big 'inner' with a central divider that can be unzipped and tied to one side making one large room.

We used it like this last summer. We had a travel cot spanning the room partition and an adult and child each side of that.

The bedrooms can each accommodate about 2.8 people - just not wide enough for 3 in my opinion (that's with SI matts)

We had 2 adults in one side and 2 dc in the other side, with the bottom zip of the divider undone. During the night, the dcs would wriggle under and come and join us.

Then we had another baby. Was alright with 3 dc in one side to start with, but now dd doesn't want to share with her brothers. Thinking of buying a small pop-up tent and putting it in the living area for her.

But yes, you can unzip the middle of the bedroom compartments and have one big room.

One side of the bedroom is big enough for a travel cot (full-size, not your baby popup sort), a ready bed, some holdalls of clothes, a nappy mat, and lots of cuddly toys, btw. The other side fitted an aero bed (think normal single bed mattress!) and a sleeping mat. Guess who got the aerobed Smile. Well, I did have to share it with toddlers by morning.

Excellent, that's what I was hoping. Will try and see one pitched, there is a Go Outdoors here so will give them a call.

Exciting! We did take DD last summer but only for one night a at a time. Looking forward to some longer trips this year. Must start compiling of list of things we must acquire!

Mine is a Montana but it has an extra bedroom on the other side that sleeps one. I find that the large bedroom/s sleep four (2 adults and 2 children in our case) comfortably.
Also, it took a little practise, but my 9 yr old and I could get the tent up and pegged in 20 mins. It's a fab tent.
