So we have got the first week in cornwall sorted, where else would you go camping for a week in summer?

That's it really. We are going to cornwall, near to Newquay for a week and then I fancy going back out of cornwall and to a more scenic, foresty kind of place for the second week. Dh doesn't want to go across country much (more than an hour or so) as it will add more time to our journey back up north.
Anyone know of good sites in somerset or nearish to bristol??
Any suggestions appreciated...

Where are you going for our first week?

We need to book Cornwall but there are so many sites out there.

We are torn between two sites, both in newquay, one with more facilities than you can shake a stick at (dh needs facilities, I do not...) and the other with a few facilities but £16 cheaper a night!

I'll try to find the links.

Apologies for my lack of knowledge but how far are the forest of dean and new forest from devon/ cornwall? Excuse me i'm a northener Grin

We're hoping to stay here for a day or two on our way back from Cornwall this summer - it might be a wee bit out of your way if you're heading North - very scenic (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and personally I like basic, love campfires, and am obssessed with White Horses and megaliths, so for me this place is perfection - but it may be a bit too basic for a week (as evidenced by the reviews!

It looks great Lovecat, don't think dh will go for the rough and ready nature of it though, he's such a princess Grin

:o

Tell me about it... DH has 5* tastes but on a Travelodge budget...he does like our bell tent, though, so I'm hoping that and sufficient quantities of wine will wipe out his childhood camping trauma (long story involving sodden weekends on the Gower, stuck in a small tent having to play cards with his dad and siblings...)

Ha ha Lovecat, the gower story sounds like all my childhood camping experiences and that's why I love it!

The Inside park at Blandford forum (Dorset) is set in woodland/parkland with amazing play areas.
