Looking at sleeping bags for my DC and came across sleeping pods.

Any experience of them?

If you mean the type that go narrow at the feet end with a hood - don't bother. I found them really uncomfortable and restrictive. Went back to standard rectangle shape.

I ordered them and sent them back, they looked cheap and nasty and not very warm although I had read some good reviews of them.

Yeah, they're vile. Go for the ordinary ones.

we got these instead, really really wide and very cosy and warm too.

... the link above I got for me and DH. It is a 2-3 season one and for my five year old girl I got this one:
www.springfield-camping.co.uk/Vango/Sleeping+Bags/Sonno+DLX/1875/pc
which is 3-4 season
and for my 2 year old I got this one:
www.skiwear4less.com/acatalog/Vango_Kids_Galaxy_Midi_Sleeping_Bag.html
because she is teeny tiny!
That one was only 2 season though.

I would have got the ones for me and DH in a higher season but that was all they did with that particular width and length of bag. they are still cosy though, and I really feel the cold. I take an extra fleece blanket incase I need it.
