for a friend. budget around 50. basically is there something kinda wonderful and purty but also practical and fabulous for that price?

i thought Cobb then looked at the price. but in that vein. something that a lady camper would like but that is ridiculous and so therefore said lady camper would think 'oh no, i couldn't possibly' and go and buy some more roll up trousers for her menfolk.

you can see why i am looking to slubber here, i think. Grin

bunting

and fairy lights, with batteries

AitchTwoOh · 12/01/2011 12:46

naaaaah. she's not really that type. is there something indulgent that's not bunting? if there is, then slub will own it. Wink [confident]

nettle green do funky melamine cutlery/crockery and tiffin boxes/bowls etc.

soul pad sell expensive stuff (but lovely!)

Ummm...lanterns etc are nice but we tend to be very short on space so I don't take them-hence why bunting is good for ironic glamping!

Hth :)

LadyBiscuit · 12/01/2011 13:26

Solar-powered fairy lights/light stakes. Always a glamping winner if she doesn't have any :)

3rdnparty · 12/01/2011 13:55

real sheepskin rug? or really nice picnic rug preferably one with a wool blanket top part and with good straps...rugs dont take too much space and can be lounged in in a glamorous fashion Grin following on from that idea- luxury versions of stuff you would take- eg cashmere socks..or cashmere anything really..

AitchTwoOh · 12/01/2011 14:10

BALD · 12/01/2011 18:36

Viva, I've got that one, in the pink colourway

a teeny bit over budget Aitch but I really like this, a kitchen table in a briefcase

MisSalLaneous · 12/01/2011 18:50

Not glamping, but I love my Storm Kettle.

Else, ugly as hell, but Slanket? Dh gave me one, I was originally a bit Hmm, but now LOVE it.

MisSalLaneous · 12/01/2011 18:56

Ah, I've just thought of a better one, but it would depend on the kind of places (e.g. trees or not) that they usually camp at.

Hammock. I think it's my favourite camping item, with the kettle second.

We do tend to camp in woodlands though, so not much use in open spaces or where you can't make a fire.

SeaShellsDreamingOfSummer · 12/01/2011 19:22

Sal thanks for reminding me! That's this summer's purchase sorted :)

MisSalLaneous · 12/01/2011 19:26

Hello! :) Which one? Kettle or hammock?

SeaShellsDreamingOfSummer · 12/01/2011 20:09

Hammock - I have a suitable tree in the garden and long for one when camping too as I'm a lazy sod Grin

MisSalLaneous · 12/01/2011 20:22

Lucky you - wish I had trees close enough at home to use it here too. Though, I do take it to the park sometimes. Fab.

AitchTwoOh · 13/01/2011 10:42

the hammocks do look brilliant, will have to do some secret quizzing to find out if they go to woody places. in a way i suspect not, up here woods = midges. that site is SHIT, is it not? i spent ages trying to get to grips with it yesterday. or maybe it's just a firefox thing? lovely stuff, from what i could see of it.

MisSalLaneous · 13/01/2011 15:22

Well, not sure if Firefox as I use Safari, but either way it is utterly confusing! Their grouping makes no sense to me whatsoever!

It's also sold on Belltent UK, but even worse there you have to click on Camping with Soul first, and then sleeping. I wanted to link to the hammock, but it just goes to the main site anyway.

Odd, you'd think for such relatively well-known companies selling online only (if I understand it correctly) they'd get it done well.

Hey ho. Worth it having a look on the Camping with Soul site too for a laugh. There are some cool and some downright odd things on there.
