Help...i've found mould!

We got back from camping in France last Sunday. When we packed the tent away it was damp as it was early morning, but it wasn't soaking. We didn't get it out of the bag until yesterday and the inner room bit has mildew on it and I am worried that the inside of the main tent does too. Its just hard to work out if it is smears from where the water dried patchy when we cleaned it or if it is little mouldy marks.

The tent is now laying around the house to make sure it is totally dry, but is there any way I can get it totally clean?

i think there is a tent shampoo that you can buy from caravan and camping stores. Then re waterproof it.
never store a tent when it is slightly damp as it makes the windows go all cloudy

Thanks for that...the windows are fine, thankfully. I was wondering if it might be worth putting the bedroom inner throught hte washing machine and if it all goes badly I can try and replace that bit.

as long as you have a large load washer. cant see any harm ,but i would put it on a cold or 30 degree wash as i reckon it might shrink. How big is it?

Its an Outwell Vermont L...quite large! I have just found a thread that says that normal washing powder wont remove mildew. They suggest vinegar...I just cannot see how I am going to get the tent up in the garden again as the weather is awful.

might be a big for the washer. You might cause it to go out of balance if it weighs more than max load.Have a look at tent shops ,i am sure an anti mould/mildew exists.
What is that non bleach ,bleach that you can buy for laundry. That will proably work

just remembered, its called Ace. That may well work

I have actually used bleach on a couple of occasions, mixed half and half with water in a spray bottle, hang the inner over the washing line, spray on till its quite wet rub in with a sponge or cloth leave for a few minutes and watch it disapear. Make sure you rinse it really really well or the fabric will rot.
I have only done this on the inner, not the fly sheet!!
Good luck.Smile.
