Which children's sleeping bag?

I am so confused! Should I be getting a 2 or 3 season? Should it be cotton or no?

We have camped from May to September this year with duvets but since we are going next weekend which might be chillier I thought I would get sleeping bags for the kids.

Any recommendations?

Just done the research on this one myself. Very few kids sleeping bags in the shops at the moment.

my kids are 2.5 and 4.5. We went for the Vango Nistar junior. Length 155ch should last the 4 year old a while. The comfort rating is 7 degrees and I would have liked it to be lower but I don't like to camp when the temp is going to fall below 10 degree so they should be fine. Not cheap though £25 as much as an adult one!

I liked the Outwell kids one but couldn't find it anywhere near me.

We have done 2 camping trips with them - last one was last weekend. kids just wore pjs and were cosy.

They are mummy style and we are finding the 2 year old doesn't like it too much though.. Might have been better with less restrictng rectangular one for him but they are not a cosy...

If this is you last camping trip of the year I would just continue with the duvets and wear socks and long sleeves under pjs and save your money till next year.

We have those junior Vango 2 season ones too, the DC's were fidgety the first year but now they are getting the idea (age 5&6) and snuggle in really well. The secret weapon is fleece tracksuit or PJ's and then they will be toasty.

The kids seem to be much warmer and less fussy sleepers than the adults TBH, they only have those thin foam mats under them but haven't complained.

we have the vango nitestar baby for our 2yo,and our other 2 (age 4&6) have junior mountainlife ones from mountain warehouse which were £15 each, they are 3 season and FABBY:)

Thanks everyone - I have looked at Gelert 300 snooze which is 2 season but will now have a look at your recommendations. I think I need envelope style as maybe mummy ones a little restrictive.

Thanks!

I got ds (6) a mummy one and he likes the fact that it envelops him. He sleeps on a self inflating mat (same type as mine). Only difference he doesn't wake up if he rolls onto the floor, whereas I do [wimp emoticon].

Amazon have a large range and also sportsdirect online with lots of major discounts.

I got DD(5) an adult Gelert Pod sleeping bag which she just loves and gives her plenty of room to move around in. And it wasn handy to have the adult size as DH ended up sleeping in it on last weekend's trip when he hurt his ankle and I didn't want to share a bed with him in case I hurt him!

DS1 had an adult one from age 4. We had bought 4 (sleeping bags (in sale) and of course ds2 wanted exactly the same as everyone else so he has used an adult one since age 2.
I used to put him in PJs, fleece suit and a baby gro-bag thing in case he wriggled out and got cold but this last summer (at 3.3) he was no trouble at all in it. He has a little pillow and sleeps on a self-inflating mat - he always slides to the lowest point of the tent, so I always put him to bed already there. Otherwise I find his head is on my feet and I can't move...

My dd slept brilliantly and was toasty in her Snugpak children's sleeping bag a week ago - she had a mummy style 2 season bag with a 'hood' thingy which covered her head.

With thermals and pjs she was warm as can be and the nights were pretty chilly - she loved it and didn't mind the shape at all.

Would highly recommend.
