Should I send an almost-complaint?

We've just come back from five days in Wales staying at a site we stayed at last year. I didn't really want to go back a second time but it was a last minute booking and DH is a bit loathe to try anywhere new when we camp so it was easier just to book it.

The reason I didn't want to go back is that they don't seem to clean the toilets - at all! It's an activity centre as well so has a lot of visitors and the toilets absolutely stink of wee. There are two wet rooms for the campers which are slightly cleaner but the tiles grouting has mould growing on it and the toilets smell. One ran out of toilet paper on tuesday and wasn't replaced until today so their obviously not checked every day.

Also, despite advertising solar heated water in the washing up room, there isn't any.

Apart from that it's lovely and quiet and really friendly.

Should I just send them an email pointing out that their lack of cleaning is letting down the whole site? I don't think I could make myself go back though as I almost threw up with the smell this morning!

I would do both .I love review sites Smile

Yes I would, just do it in a straightforward way - starting off with the positive points and then mentioning the lack of cleaning.

Or something I do occasionally (am I sad??) is write a letter of complaint but deliberately don't put my address on it - sometimes use a false name as well Grin - I am trying to make the point that I am not looking for a bland, 'thank you for your comments' type reply - but I just want to bring these points to their attention.

I used to work in customer relations and wrote a load of drivel type reply letters !!

Thanks people! I just wanted to confirm that I wasn't making a big fuss about nothing. I've emailed a 'good points, however...' letter making it clear that I'm only writing to give feedback and not to be moany. Smile
