We're going to Standon Calling this weekend, and the forecast is heavy rain.
I've been so looking forward to it. DP just off to buy wellies.

Has anyone got any tips on how to survive enjoy a muddy festival with a toddler?

We've got a cabin, so not actually camping (DP is working there) so it'll be OK I think What do you reckon?

We did Latitude a few weeks ago with a toddler exactly the same age (I know this because we were on the same antenatal thread but you may not recognise me as I was a different vegtable back then). DD2 loved the festival atmosphere. I have never seen her so happy. Of course we didn't have much rain to contend with but we had packed full body water proofs just in case. And loads of warm clothes. And a billion wipes. And anti bacterial gel for when all the taps break... You'll be fine. Especially in a cabin.

Hiya Avocadoes, I remember you in your former incarnation

Just taking a break from packing.
clothes, check. Winter clothes, check. Bedtime stuff, swimming stuff, toys, picnic stuff, nappies, food, medicine, suncream and towels. Phew! Babies sure don't travel light!

I cope by designating a welly-zone and somewhere to hang wet (head to toe) waterproofs, and none, none, none, go beyond this point. It may sound very obvious, but not something we all remember to do. Oh, and a pile of stuff that the said toddler likes doing. Leap-pad stuff was a godsend on many a muddy campsite when dd was that size!

As soon as it starts raining, make them wear shorts and wellies. Trousers inevitably fall out of the boots and get covered in mud. And shorts are less to dry, later.

(this tip doesn't work if your toddler is young enough to sit down in the mud - in this case you need an all-in-one waterproof)
