Quick bell tent question...

Now that it's arrived...

I'm wondering if I need an extra ground sheet to go underneath, or whether that's pure overkill?

The integrated ground sheet is lovely and thick, but I'm a little bit scared of getting my beautiful tent muddy, lol!

What do you do fellow bell-tenters? (now that I am one... hurrah!)

MrsMellow- I can't help but am wondering if I can pick your brains instead

we've just got a bell tent but being extremely mean we got ours in the Netherlands. Of course this means all the instructions are in Dutch! do yours say anything about weathering the tent ie letting it get wet then drying out again to make it fully waterproof? am sure I read something on here recently saying that's what you should do...

My instructions say that it can shrink a little the first time it gets wet, so not to have the guys too tight until it's had a good soaking. Nothing about the waterproofness though.

The soulpad instructions are all on their website - you could have a look there...

We put ours up in the garden yesterday, and slept in it overnight. Lovely lovely lovely.

Very easy to erect - I did it all by myself [beams proudly], in half an hour or so. Much easier than putting up our old tent - none of that faffing around with threading poles through tight nylon tunnels etc. And it was a joy to gently fall asleep in, shadows dancing on canvas etc...

I did get an extra groundsheet for underneath in the end. I know it's probably not necessary, but I figured it couldn't hurt.
