Get an app. Make your food for work the day before. And track it all in the app.

There are some great apps that can help! Some are free. You just scan the bar code and it registers how many cals ect. They can help you figure out what you need to be eating to lose the weight you want to.

Nutracheck is really easy to use. You have to pay for it -£25 a year or something, but I think it makes you feel more accountable if you’ve spent money on it.

It won’t stop you putting food in your mouth though!

Planning was my key to this. Meal plan, then add it all to a calorie counter in advance. I use my fitness pal and you can copy meals from previous days which speeds things up. I also calorie count over a week so if you do go over one day you just eat less the next day.

Get an app, there are some great ones. I think amazon does something like that.

A bit more detail is needed @PegLegJim.
Are you buying lunch?

PegLegJim · 15/08/2026 14:34

Lol, yes, but limited as to the choice. I work in a village, most of the time, and only have one place to eat.

Can you make lunch and take it in?

Fiftyandme · 15/08/2026 15:20

Nutra check, Apple Watch connected to it if you have 1, meal prep

UnaGatita · 15/08/2026 15:22

Highly recommend Nutracheck to keep yourself accountable with a user friendly tracker. I’ve just resubscribed after a year falling off the wagon and making excuses for myself!

BreakingBroken · 15/08/2026 16:09

So, what’s on order?
If you pack your own fresh veggies (cherry tomatoes, celery, cuc etc.) can you eat a sandwich (no chips). Soups are often great options (although not in the heat).
You could make lunch your biggest meal of the day and have a light supper.

Thank you all for the advice. I've downloaded nutracheck, just need to sort out all the set up. Im trying to find things low in calories but that is filling. Maybe give up bread?

rather than giving up, cut back or switch to options with more fiber.
