I'm trying to go for a walk most days, also have a mini-exercise bike but I'm looking at muscle strengthening/building. I can't afford gym membership.

Walking at least 10k steps a day, strength training at the gym 3 times per week, I was reluctant to sign upto the gym for 12 months initially due to the cost but it has absolutely changed my life I love lifting so it's become a non negotiable for me. I have given up alcohol and takeaways which pays for my gym membership

Mainly weights, about x3 per week. Luckily DH already had a lot of equipment so we've turned a spare room into a gym. I need to walk more though - I have a fairly sedentary job and definitely don't get enough steps in during the week. We've got a treadmill as well so I really don't have any excuse!

Can you get a couple of kettlebells, OP? Much cheaper than a gym membership and can be really useful.

You can strength train for free.
Grab a backpack with good thick straps. Fill it with stuff.

Get it on your back and squat
Use the (they usually have one) hanging loop and swing it like a kettle bell (look up kettle bell work outs on YouTube)
When it feels too easy, fill it with heavier stuff.

Don't worry about what the actual weight of the backpacks is. If it feels heavy, its heavy. Your muscles cannot read numbers. They do not know the weight you're lifting. If it feels hard, its hard.

No bag required for this one - get on YouTube and follow free some pilates sessions. Really good for core strength and if ou've not done pilates before, you will absolutely feel the work being done in your muscles the next day 😭🤣. Its a very special kind of ouch!!!

Strength training is really important for retaining muscle mass which will make maintaining any weight loss much easier. If you can’t afford a gym membership then there are ways around that as other posters have mentioned.

I’ve lost 50lbs over the past year and I strength train 4-6 times a week and aim for 7-8k steps daily. I like to get 10k but it’s not always achievable so I stick with that goal. I also do a bit of cardio at the gym, maybe 40 mins per week.

10-15 k steps a day. Not all at once, I walk to work and back and then have a long speed walk after dinner. I also do a strength session 5 times a week, usually around 30 mins. I like Caroline Girvan and Juice & Toya.

I walk, and I am on the treadmill every day for 30 minutes. I may start trying other equipment soon, only 3 weeks in :)

10k steps a day, 3litres of water, 1500 calories (I have a goal weight hence the low calories) 130g of that being protein. Working out minimum 3 times a week, having focus days on upper, lower and a full body day.

Council gyms can be cheaper than you think. My local offers a £30 a months fee. Or work out at home, its how I started as I was to self conscious to go to the gym. I am lucky that my husband was a body builder, so we have a lot of equipment and a little garden room/gym in the garden. However if you have the funds, Aldi are always selling gym bits or look at market place, its where we get most of ours from.

We pay £30 a month to the local council gym. I was 13 stone on 1 November and I am 11stone 10lb now. I have had phisio due to arthritic knee and I am now doing more exercise than I have ever done, on advice. 2x spin classes, one low impact aerobics, two x yoga, two sessions on the resistance machines each week. Sometimes II do an aqua session as well. I’m feeling amazing and now have very little pain in my knee at all.
