Looking for low cal breakfast and lunch

I am looking for low calorie breakfast and lunches that don't contain egg as a main ingredient.. example omelette. Egg in something like a breakfast muffin is fine.
Bonus if you can add the calories.

Go! go! go! (And thank you!)

Lunch I will often have a new potato and tuna salad using Greek yogurt and mustard as a dressing and throw in whatever salad I have.

Porridge made with water and just a splash of milk at the end to make it creamy. If I recall 40G of oats is about 190 cal and it makes a good size bowl. You could add some chopped fruit.

Lunch - I like roast veg. I do a big tray with aubergine, peppers, red onion, butternut, courgette and tomatoes, with some kind of seasoning. I have it on a bed of homemade hummus but you could make a low fat spiced yogurt dip to reduce calories. Could add chickpeas at the roasting stage for added protein, or some cooked lentils.

I have a load of new potatoes to eat up. Are they low cal then?

Sounds lovely!

I'm lactose intolerant so a lot of breakfast things are out but I often have a couple of slices of ham, sometimes with a bit of cheese but that can put the calorie count on.

Oldgalgames · 15/06/2025 07:44

About 65cals per 100g of cooked weight for new potatoes

My go to breakfast is overnight oats or granola with Greek yoghurt, fruit & seeds
lunch is ryvita with low fat cottage cheese with chives with sliced tomatoes and cucumber on top
sometimes soup for lunch too

Lunch - at the start of the week i make a salad of - a tin of butter beans/cannelini beans; a tin of tuna; cucumber, toms, spring onion and a few onions. Mix it all up - does about 3 lunches.

Veg for breakfast! Or at least as part of it. Spinach, tomatoes and mushrooms for example. I’d have eggs but you could have a portion of beans or fish or something like ham

soupyspoon · 14/08/2025 19:28

I dont understand the egg caveat. Do you mean you dont like eggs if they're mixed up but do you if its a stand alone egg in the muffin?

If you do, then what about shakshuka, a mixed vegetable casserole/ratatouille type mixture that you put eggs in and it bakes in the oven, bakes the egg in the mixture, whole.
