Snacks?

I've been calorie counting for just over a week (lost 3lb im the first week), but my biggest problem is I like to have a snack once the kids are in bed.

I've been having one or two Snack a Jacks, a Fibre One bar or 18g popcorn and a pink and white wafer but looking to hear of any other snacks or healthier/filling snacks to give me more variety.

Thanks!

When I'm calorie counting I go for a hard boiled egg (72 cals) with a bit of salt and garam masala, or an apple and a dessert spoon of peanut butter.

As a substitute for peanuts or crisps I have a little bowl of cornichons to pick at. I like the jars from Lidl , the ones with chilli.

Otherwise a little bowl of Quaker Oat Crisp cereal without milk.

Fun size Milky Way

Curly Wurly is only 97 calories and takes ages to eat!

Nibbles plates. Make with whatever you want, but the goal is to have lots of delicious little nibbly things for you to graze on.

Sweet plate: Mix of the following in appropriate quantities for your calorie allowance.
Some sweet popcorn or mini snack a jacks.
Chopped fresh fruit (apple, pear, some grapes, mandarin, whatever I have)
A wee pot of yoghurt to dip things in to.
A slice of malt loaf, chopped into wee cubes
Dried dates and apricots

Savoury plate: Mix of the following in appropriate quantities for your calorie allowance.

Salty popcorn or mini snack a jacks
Veg sticks and baby tomatoes
Hard boiled egg
Twiglets
Small cubes of low fat cheese with some pineapple if you want to feel retro
Wee pot of hummous or plain yogurt for dipping. Yogurt with a swish of sweet chilli sauce mixed in is lovely.

I saw a recipe on Instagram the other day that looked interesting. Slice a bagel into rounds (so not in half through the centre, but vertically, so you get round "chips"). Spray with oil, add seasoning (italian garlic seasoning, or paprika would be nice) then airfry till crisp. Looked rather nice. Of course the person doing it slathered the bits in olive oil before seasoning and air frying but I'm sure the spray oil would work.

I’ve found that by filling up at meal times I’m not snacking so maybe focus on that? I have one evening snack but it’s fruit or a small chocolate bar (mini one) or halo brownie ice cream on a stick for 90 calories (they’re lovely and don’t taste healthy at all).

As PP mentioned, kvarg yoghurts are my late night go to. They're around 90kcal and high in protein. I'll eat dinner around six to seven then a yoghurt at half eight/nine and I'm done for the night.

Twiglets! 97 calories a bag, there’s loads in there so they take a while to eat, nice and crunchy and delicious, and quite filling.

Solero type ice creams are around 100 kcal

I find snacks with protein most filling- protein yogurts, protein bars, lately been heating up protein shakes with a shot of espresso to make protein lattes (great in cold weather!)
