I've tried 2 calculators, one james smith and 2 totally different numbers for calories . I'm 39. 5 foot 7 and weigh 170 pounds
Pls help me work out calories for weightloss

Are you male or female? Pregnant or lactating and what is your daily activity level (be honest here).
Probably important to know how much your current daily intake is and if your weight is stable or going up.

I am female , not pregnant and I'm sedentry . Work sat at a computer all day and don't exercise

Any calculator will only give you an estimate. Pick a calorie level you can stick to as a weekly average, track your food for a few weeks and see what your weight does.

Then adjust as needed - if you aren't losing weight then you have found your maintenance calories, if you are then you are in a deficit. If you want to lose quicker then drop your calories slightly to create a bigger deficit.

Trial and error!
