I have a fitbit and my fitness pal. Does calorie deficit work if you check what calories you've used that day...say 2000, then the day after eat 1500, or if you've used 2600, eat 2100 the day after, and so on

Calories in, calories out. Average it over whatever period you want.

Try focusing on eating well, and real food.

Yes your body doesn't reset at midnight. To lose 1lb, you need to have a deficit of 3500 calories. So you'll lose it depending on how long it takes to hit that 3500 deficit target. Just say to lose 1lb a week, you have to eat 1600 calories a day. So that's 7x 1600 = 11,200 calories. So you can eat that however you like. 2500 one day, 1500 the next etc. as long as you eat 11,200 calories in total for the week, you'll lose 1lb.

That's a really basic explanation, you might be in a deficit but have water retention, TOTM etc which can change your weight. But as long as you're consistent, it'll go 😀
