How??! Help! I lost two stone a couple of years ago and did it with
Breakfast - muller light yogurt and strawberries
Lunch - salad
Dinner - main family meal but restricted portion

  • lots of HIIT
I'm a few years older now and struggling with 12 stone at 5'6"

Which yogurt should I be having for breakfast?
Calorie counter calculator suggests just over 1200 cals a day 😰
I'll be jumping on my cross trainer a few times a week too

Don't know if this will help at all, but my DP is doing The Diet Whisperer diet at the moment and has lost 4.5kg in 3 weeks. It's a bit like keto. A couple of days of feeling a bit rubbish when his body adapted to the lack of carbs, but now that's over he loves it.

I find logging meals really helpful, I use myfitnesspal, it tracks calories as well as things like carb, protein, fat intake etc.
Having everything there seems to keep me on track.

Yoghurt recommendations, I'd suggest the Nestle Lindahls protein yoghurts, they're so nice and quite filling at 150g a pot. I have one of those with 20g granola and chia seeds for breakfast.

Hope that helps some?

@Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese yes thanks. I'll look into the yogurt.

Thanks for the suggestion of the diet whisperer

@carrottopper I'm in the same boat as you - 5'6 and just under 12 stone. I have a target of 10.5 stone for my holiday in 12 weeks! Now I'm older (45) I find it harder to lose weight, but also I have got much better at making excuses😆. I've been half heartedly using MFP since Feb and have lost 4-5 pounds but have now decided to really go for it. I'm already quite active (10k steps per day, 2 PT sessions per week, a yoga class or two) but usually overeat to celebrate my hard work! Key changes will be - no sugary treats (I get killer sugar crashes), no alcohol during the week, upping my protein and reducing my white carbs. Let's see how we get on!

Can I join in please? I'm heavier and shorter than you guys 😭but have a holiday in about 14 weeks. I was planning on starting 12-weeks out and would love to lose 2 stones but really anything over a stone will be amazing. I'm 46 and have found it so so hard to lose weight since piling it on when I started taking anti depressants about 5 and a half years ago. I've been off them for at least six months now, so maybe it will be easier (please someone tell me it will be).

I can't be doing with anything like keto, and will struggle with low carb even, but I've had success with logging on my fitness pal so will probably go with that. I need to kick my week night wine habit too. My plan is to try and eat earlier in the evenings as I'm not bothered about wine once I've had my dinner!

Hi yes join us.
I'm no good with the fancy diets so just going to calorie count as best I can weighing everything. I'm aiming for 1500 a day.
I've just made a sandwich for work tomorrow and forgot to weigh the cheese 😨🙈 Not a good start

So after only two days of sticking rigidly to MFP I've lost a pound which is a great motivator (even if it is just water!). Boiled eggs for breakfast and then a long dog walk to get the day started well.

That is fabulous! Well done you, even if it is water weight, it's still movement in the direction you want 😁

Out for dinner with the family last night - one glass of wine instead of my usual 3 or 4, chicken instead of burger/pizza, a few chunky chips instead of a pile of fries - starting to make changes that don't impact my enjoyment and don't bring a shock on the scales the next morning Smile
