New mum needing snack tips

Hi all. I'm a new mum really keen to lose some weight and feel a bit better about myself. I did initially lose some in the first few weeks after the birth but I'm finding that I don't have any spare time to prepare healthy snacks so I'm resorting to my husbands chocolate and biscuits because I'm constantly hungry and tired and so putting some back on again. I thought I might try and count my calories (maybe sticking to 1500 or 1600 a day) but I have very little willpower at the moment when I'm hungry and am guilty of snacking so I need foods that will fill me up as much as possible and don't take too much prep if anyone has any tips/recommendations/advice. Thanks Smile

Crackerbread with cheese (melted on the grill) low calorie (skinny co) on rice cakes or rich tea. 10 cal jelly and a lot of Icepops are under 100 calories- you can select this option if you do an online shop.

If you are a new mum I would honestly just not worry about it for now and come back to weight loss when your baby is a bit older - it’s so much easier to lose weight when you are out of that newborn haze, have a bit more sleep and some time to exercise and prep meals and snacks.

But if you are certain that now is the time then I would have a mix of carbs for an instant energy hit with protein to keep you full. Rice cakes and chopped veg with hummus. Sliced apple with a thin scrape of almond butter. A small bowl of porridge made with milk. You can make a massive frittata and have a slice at a time. These are not super low calorie options but they should help more with the energy slump than a cereal bar type snack.

Don’t forget that if you are breastfeeding you will need extra calories and 1500-1600 will be too low.
