Morning,

I weighed in this morning with a 2lb gain. I expected to maintain this week as due to family birthdays and anniversary I was factoring in for various treats and a takeaway!

My TDEE is 1900. I've been eating 1200 a day and lost 7lb in 3 weeks, going from 11st2 to 10st9

Last week I relaxed it and ate:

Mon 1900
Tues 1100
Wed 1100
Thurs 1300
Fri 3000
Sat 1600
Sun 1100
Total 11,100 an average so 1,590 per day. Plus I exercised approx 1000 cals from running.

How have I gained? My understating is to maintain I can eat 7 x TDEE which for me is 13,300 so to have gained 2lb I must have eaten that plus 7000 so nearly 3000 a day!!! I really haven't. I recorded everything! 😩 I thought it was a straightforward calculation...

Any ideas? Thank you

Could it be due to your menstrual cycle? Every time I'm due on my period, I gain weight that week, even if I've been really sticking to my plan. I then lose it the following week. I think it's definitely due to fluid retention that week.

Hmm that's interesting... my period started Thursday and finished yesterday the night have played a part!

Hopefully I see the scales drop back down quickly if it is that.

Daily fluctuations are totally meaningless. Weight is affected by more things than fat, the main one of which is water.
