Avoiding snacks help!

I'm excercising every day and eating healthy main meals. However, my hubby works long hours so we eat around 7/8pm when he's home. The kids have their dinner around 4:30ish and I find the time between picking the kids up from school and their bedtime is when I am snacking on biscuits, sweets, crisps whilst sorting the kids out, getting their dinner. Any suggestions what I can do? I want to still eat a meal with hubby later.

Diet coke? Cruditees? Water? Sugarfree gum? Sugar free jelly? Low cal hot drink? Low cal soup?

Fruit or veg such as carrot or cucumber sticks (with low fat hummus?) or I end up picking on meat for protein, mini babybel light are quite good for portion control. Yogurts can be nice. Agree with pp suggesting have a drink first? I try and eat larger meals to help me stay fuller for longer and don’t have crisps or biscuits that I like in Eg. Only cheese and onion!

Agree drinking until I actually feel like I might explode, or brush your teeth

I also have a diet fizzy drink or some sparkling water or a cup of tea. Basically, have a drink! If I'm desperate then an apple or a rice cake or something.

Chewing minty gum has helped for me in the past, means that other stuff tastes weird so you don't want it.
