Are there in a pub roast do you think? Half a chicken, very large Yorkshire pudding, gravy, two roast potatoes, red cabbage, carrots and swede. Filled up a large adult plate. I ate about 2/3 of it.

Ours is 1039 cals per portion for a chicken roast dinner.

Christ, that's a lot. It's so hard to know. I looked up somewhere saying 415. I only ate 2/3of it though and that was two roast potatoes and half giant Yorkshire pudding.

Meals in pubs, invariably, are pretty caloric. A few pubs do have the nutritional value of their meals online.

StormTreader · 23/09/2019 12:40

Half chicken is about 640, giant yorkshore another 300, roast potatoes about 150 each...
The tiny readymeal "roast chicken" microwave dinners you get in the supermarket freezer section are about 300-450 for reference.

Thanks. Blimey better ease off the roasts

I would recommend having a starter and side salad or a salad meal or sharing some of your meal if you are at a pub. (I would cut my Yorkshire in half and give to my D.C. & DH, and donate to them a potato and half the meat too.)

I would calculate two thirds of at least 1400 calories. The veg are fairly low calorie, possibly the gravy too if made with stock and veg juice- although it would be loads more calories if made with chicken cooking juices. The potatoes and Yorkshire pudding are very high calorie. The volume of chicken sounds like quite a lot.

Just avoid the yorkies and have jacket potato next time
