Genuinely this is my Day today.

I often go without breakfast and lunch.

Today I had a protein shake and dinner was a ham salad.

I had snacks and some slimline G&t

I run 5k now every other day . Wtaf is wrong with me?

I have back fat and a fat middle. I'm 5ft 4 and weigh 10'st 9 and have gained a stone this year. I'm 47.

Any advice much appreciated. I'm fed up .

You aren't fat, you're at the top end of healthy for your height and you're 47. You won't weigh the same as when you were 27.

I'm carrying a lot of fat round the middle and I'm way off for the string test with a gap of about 4 inches. Im carrying a lot of fat from just beneath my boobs to my stomach. Imma real apple shape which puts me at risk of heart disease etc so my aim is just to be healthy.

My stats were done at Bannatyne and my visceral fat is 14 and body fat % was 40% which is way too high and the thing is I know it's true from looking at my fat tummy and back fat ...

Have you been to the doctors? Because there's no way you would gain weight eating less than a 1000 calories a day. So either something is being worked out incorrectly or there is a medical reason.

Started to read this because I feel the same. But I did do slimming world and lost two stones but have regained it all very quickly and cannot face going back to it
Seeing the comments about people who have no clue rang absolutely true for me.
Going to watch this with interest

I'm not gaining on 1000 cals but it not losing either.

Or o lose maybe a few pound only to gain it again the moment I go out for a meal and eat more than "normal" for me

The current thread on height and weight is making m feel even fatter if I'm honest

I have a tiny frame with size 3-4 feet and very tiny wrists ( I can wriggle out of handcuffs on the tightest setting- not kinky - I'm a cop! We have days where we have to do officer safety! 😂)

I should be small because my frame demands it so my really happy weight was 8st 7 .
Depressingly I now weigh 2 stone more.
10 8 this morning. I'd settle for 9 12 which I was 3 years ago. Fluctuations between 9,12 and 10,4 I could handle.

Now I'm like a teletubby . Sad

Don’t avoid carbs. Eat plenty of protein and fibre and veg. Avoid too much fruit
Try 1200 cals per day e.g

Breakfast-2 scrambled eggs on 1 toast-no butter,
Lunch-jacket potato (small) Tuna, salad
Dinner- chicken casserole (lean) including veg, brown rice (weigh out 3/4 of recommended portion.
Careful how much milk you put in drinks
Earn 50 extra cals per mile you run.

Definitely get your thyroid checked!

When you cut your calories you will initially see a loss which is mostly water. The minute you eat a big meal again you will gain some water weight again. You really need to be thinking long term and not being put off by day-to-day fluctuations on the scale.

What was your quick add? How much did your kiwi weigh? I know it's not likely to be that particular kiwi, but if you're stuck not losing it is worth really tightening up on your logging. Use per gramme entries and weigh and measure everything. It may be worth opening up your diary and getting advice on the MFP forums.

Don't skip meals, it really isn't sustainable!

You say the alcohol cut down is recent - have you been eating less for 2 weeks and expected to drop a lot?

TheLongRider · 09/06/2019 11:30

How long have you been counting calories and cutting alcohol? If it's only in the last week or so it takes time to lose the weight. It didn't go on over night and it'll take time to lose it. Particularly as you are already within the healthy weight range for your height. I also recommend weight lifting for changing your shape.
