1000 calorie deficit

I'm having an operation at the end of next month and I want to lose some weight.

I have a total of 3.5 ideally four stone to lose and I know I won't lose this between then and now but I do want to be a healthier weight before the op and in general.

I have been ensuring a eat plenty of cooked from scratch meals, lots of veg and drinking between 2 and 3 litres of water a day.

I'm not starving myself and I am having things like an almond milk and yoghurt shake or egg white and veg omelette for breakfast, protein like chicken breast for lunch and then a 500-600 cal dinner like slimming world sausage casserole or curry with lots of veg.

A friend is said to me that I will fuck my body up if I do this until the operation.

However the weight is coming off and I've lost half a stone in two weeks. I feel less hungry, and I do feel better about my appearance.

I'm not snacking between meals as I haven't felt the need.

I'm also doing between 10-12k steps a day to make sure I have a deficit of calories in vs calories out (using a Fitbit)

Based on what I've said, does this sound ok?

I would go back to normal eating at least a fortnight before the op, but keep up the exercise. I see why you want to lose weight what with the anasthetic but you don't want to be weak either, so for me that would be a good compromise between quickly losing some weight but not making myself vulnerable to complications and/or slow recovery.

Thanks @rinabean I will do that with less sugar etc.

Had a little blow out at the weekend but I think you need a little break sometimes.
