Calorie intake whilst breastfeeding and exercise

Hi - I know I shouldn't be 'dieting' whilst breastfeeding, I am making healthier choices since Christmas, but what should my calorie intake a day be? I would rather kick start loosing the extra baby weight sooner rather than later. Baby is 4 weeks old.
Also, am I able to do much exercise whilst breastfeeding once I have had 6 week check? I obviously won't be throwing myself into anything too crazy (Mainly cos I'm expecting it to be too tough having had 10 months off!!). But I have been told to leave certain things alone...
Any advise appreciated! Thank you!

Hey.
Once you've had your 6 week check, your dr should clear you for exercise. I was encouraged to exercise as soon as I felt ready after 6 week check to help with my low mood. You'll know what your body feels ready for once you start working out again.

I breast feed (exclusively) & didn't start calorie counting / restricting calorie intake until my milk supply was well established (my son is nearly 5 months). I have been maintaining a diet of around 1500 calories since the new year and my milk supply is fine. I drink a lot of water and recommend taking a vitamin d and calcium supplement.

Good luck!

Thank you that's very helpful! I weren't sure what vitamins I would be able to take.
I have my 6 week check this week. Can't wait to start feeling better about myself again and a bit more human!
