Soup diet

I have a lot of weight to lose, a lot. I've piled on the pounds for about 5 years now and I'm now a size 24! Blush
I'm fed up of it so I've been eating either a boiled egg with a piece of toast and tinned tomatoes for breakfast (keeps me going until lunch just fine) or no fat yogurt with an orange and some honey on top and then a vegetable soup (no potatoes) for lunch and a broth with a slice of bread for dinner.
If I'm hungry I snack on fruit and I let myself have an alternative meal at the weekend (we had enchiladas on Saturday).
I feel well, far better than I did before eating all the junk and carbs I used to but I worked out calories for the soups and they can't be more than 150 per serving and that's with a piece of bread, so I'm not sure I'm getting enough calories. Breakfast is never more than 300, then the soups for lunch and dinner (300 calories for both)and some fruit for snacks.
I log my calories on my fitness pal and it's usually below 1000, should I up this? I have so much weight to lose, surely I will be okay on the soups until it starts falling off, I've got so much fat to burn through my body isn't going to starve, right?
I keep reading you shouldn't go below 1200 cals a day & I don't want to do any damage.
Sorry for the massive rant, brains all over the place!

You're not eating enough and what you are eating isn't very good or nutritious.

Ditch the bread completely. And the tinned tomatoes (have fresh with your eggs) and low fat yogurt. And swap the fruit for veg.

Eat loads of lean protein (chicken, turkey, oily fish) and loads of vegetables as close to their natural state as possible. Especially the dark leafy kind.

Small amounts of natural yogurt, nuts, seeds and blueberries as snacks.

Drink gallons of water. And exercise, exercise, exercise!

I've lost two stones in 6 weeks doing this (admittedly 7lb of that was a baby Grin ).

Good luck!

It's not healthy but if you are on a v low calorie diet you need to be especially careful about getting enough protein (can't remember was about 60-80g protein a day). I would make sure no matter how low you choose to go with calories that you get at least that amount of protein. It's to do with making sure your body doesn't start metabolising essential muscles over fat.
