MFP/Slimming world/Closer diets?!

I'm ashamed to say that I am now heavier than when I was about to give birth to DD (16 months ago!)

I'm 5ft 3 and 9st, although I am physically quite fit, I have a lot of weight on my stomach area and I'm really worried my sweet tooth will lead me to develop diabetes (it runs in my family)

My eating habits are terrible as I'm always running around like a mad woman- erratic meal times, eating crap when I should be eating properly (diet coke and cake for lunch anyone?!), and snacking on fizzy drinks/chocolate/crisps mid afternoon when I am knackered.

Now, I understand the principles of healthy eating, I'm just too bloody weak to do it and after last weekend where I burst the zip of the dress I was meant to wear for a wedding I have decided to take control.

But what works?! I've been looking at Slimming World, Closer Diets, MFP but not really sure the benefits of one over another. I am worried about SW as a lot of the breakfasts seem to have eggs which I can't eat, that said several of my friend have done it and look great.

Can anyone offer me any advice?!

Hi paintyourbox. what you describe was me last year and I didn't have the excuse of a new born!! My 2 dd were 3 and 7. I took control with my fitness pal. I basically had breakfast - yoghurt and fruit, soup for lunch and a dinner on a small plate. I also ate as much fruit and drank as much water as I could handle. This stopped my sugar cravings. I did allow myself a fudge every evening after my dinner so I wasn't feeling deprived. I had wine and takeaway every weekend too. In addition to this I walked for half an hour every day. in time it made me feel amazing-much more energised. I lost 5 stone and dropped from size 22 to 12 in 9 mths. I planned my weeks eating and only bought what I needed and prepared a lot in advance to freeze so it was like home made ready meals. I wish you all the best on your weight loss journey x

Sorry to ask a basic question but are you drinking enough? The body often mistakes thirst for hunger hence the eating of crappy food which tend to be higher in salt making you more dehydrated.Leading you to eat more it's a bit of a cycle,Keep note for a couple of days what your drinking and when.If you keep an eye on your wee to make sure it's pale or virtually clear.Hopefully if this is the problem you will eat less junk and the weight will fall off on its own.
