What did the midwife/doctor say?

What type is it? DD had the raspberry lumpy ones. They’ve gone now, flattened and faded to nothing. She’s 10.

2 weeks old and you’re worried about bullying? You can’t clear them no. My dd was born with a ‘strawberry mark’ it got bigger and bigger then by age 7-8 just faded so much so that she cried when it went. In my experience children don’t care what eachother look like, my dd had a boy in her class with only two fingers and I remember asking her if she wanted to invite him to her birthday party. Not knowing his name I said you know the little guy with the different hand. She didn’t have a clue what I was talking about until she clicked and said oh you mean xyz with the purple coat. Kids don’t see what we see unless we point it out. Enjoy your baby she’s 2 weeks old I’m guessing you have some time to prepare for bullying.

Hello, my daughter had a strawberry birthmark (infantile hemangioma) that appeared at a couple of weeks old, on her forehead. The GP advised to leave it. We treated it privately and because we started treatment whilst it was small and flat we have had fantastic results - I even had to point it out to the GP at her twelve week check as it was so small.

Given the location of your daughters birthmarks - Near to eyes, nose, mouth you may well have success with the NHS but I'd advise to act fast, if you want to treat them. Given the number of hemangiomas you should also push for a referral for an MRI to check for internal hemangiomas too.

Please message me if you need any further advise, I can signpost you to some groups that will help you advocate for your daughter or parents who have faced similar.

My dd was born with a port wine stain on her face. It covered most of one side. She has had laser therapy over the years and it is now much reduced.

I would suggest to look at information provided by https://birthmarksupportgroup.org.uk/. They have details of different types and information that may help.
