Long story short. My son has moved into secondry and has had some issues with a group of lads saying he has called their mums names etc ( he hasnt) threatening him that they are going to deck him.
I emailed school to let them know what was going on and they moved them around in a class they share together.
Friday gone my school app said my son wasn't present in school, I called them at 10am to say he was there . They called me back and said yes he is fine and in school, that was the end of the conversation. Comes to 2pm on Friday and the school call me to say one of the boys slapped his face at 8 30am and stole his tie. Firstly why didn't they ring me straight away ? Why didn't they tell me when.i called them at 10am that my son had been assulted ? I've then found out they let him go back into another school lesson with this kid that assulted him. I'm so angry and going into the school tomorrow to have strong words. They haven't safe guarded him at all.

i am sorry your son was slapped, but from your post it sounds like it was connected to the narrative of our son calling his mother names? So it does not sound altogether one sided.
A secondary school typically has around a thousand other students to deal with with all sorts of issues and concerns -it is very unlikely that the person you spoke to in the morning was the same person who dealt with the incident.
I dont undertand why you think your son or the boy tshould not have gone back into their regular classes?

Physical assault should always be taken seriously regardless of any provocation or not!
it my child’s senior school it’s immediate isolation for the day

I suspect that the reason for your son not being registered would be that the incident was being investigated.
But the school should have been able to fill in the registers later.

I would be very concerned about how the school have dealt with the boy that slapped your son as they would have been put in isolation in every school that I have worked at, irrespective of what caused the incident.
