How to deal with this?

Just curious, how u would deal with this as im a bit stumped...So DD, in secondary school is in part of a group. Everyone wants to get attention from one girl. They desperately want her, they all talk to her / fight over her and the moment my DD says something they talk over her. Or if DD says something, maybe similar things others have said or suggested they turn their noses up and make out she is terrible for suggesting it.
My daughter feels they are trying to drop her from the group.
She is now beginning to not like the other girls because of their actions as they socially exclude her too, putting themselves in the way etc, so naturally just talks to the girl she likes.
The girl they all want, is saying she wants DD make effort with everyone but she feels they don't like her.
I feel its a shame for her to have her friendship ruined because of everyone else.
Just wondering what other parents would advise? She has tried answering them back and ignoring them
I have spoken to school and they were not much help.
Since going back its been awful.

They sound like they're bullying your daughter and she needs to drop them. She shouldn't put up with being treated like that. She needs to either hang out with other friends or do some sports and clubs so she makes new friends.

Putting up with bad behaviour will erode her self esteem.

Thank you for your reply, I sadly think you are right and advised her to start to build relationships with others.

'The girl they all want' sounds tiresome. What makes her so fabulous? She actually sounds like a nasty piece of work. I'd encourage your daughter to make friends elsewhere, it sounds like a toxic friendship group.

I honestly have no idea, i really dont....my daughter has been the closest to her and I think Dd has been a 'threat' to the others.

I did question my dd and say why do u think she is saying you should make more effort and she seems to think that this popular girl "just sees things in her perspective".(I think surely this girl must have seen stuff already?)....Anyway Dd has now been pointing out things as they happen to her, so this girl must know now.... I'm not sure how this will pan out.... I'm really worried this will knock my daughters confidence so have told her to branch out to new friends.
