Ds being bullied at school

My 4yo has been at school for the last 3 weeks and a girl he went to nursery with now up to school has started to push him and kick him
Ds doesn't seem too bothered just says said girl doesn't like me and she isn't kind.
Im fairly friendly with the girls mum, i haven't mentioned anything yet. Said girl is a little unruly and mum has problems with her behaviour at times.

Obviously im really upset ds is coming home saying these thing are happening but the only thing stopping me going to girls mum or school is the fact he doesn't seem too bothered and says he is happy at school. im also 7months pregnant so do you think im just hormonal and being a bit ott?
i dont know how to deal with this and its making me feel so low. Advice appreciated! x

If he isn't that bothered, I would just mention it to the Nursery Staff and let them deal with it as they see fit - they are on the scene and are better placed to see what's really going on.

Talk to the teacher and and explain what has been happening. At that age teachers can usually sort it out by giving a talk on being kind etc.

I’d mention to the school so they can keep an eye on it.

im in a similar situation however my dd is 6(nearly 7) and her ‘best friend’ treats her terribly, she also has behavioural issues and really enjoys telling my dd she’s her best friend, she’s not allowed to play with anyone else then gets all the children to leave her out. Dd asked me not to say anything because “she’s her best friend and said friend said she can’t go to her party if she tells anyone”.. it broke my heart!

Im also friendly with the mum but we don’t have that kind of relationship where I can say anything so I’m going to tell the teacher and stop with the play dates from now on.

Do not approach the girl's mum.

Talk to the teacher:
Hi. DS reports that he has been getting hurt by X. He reports A, and B & C. Please can you keep an eye and intervene / ensure they are separated.

If necessary follow up by email. At least keep a record for yourself incase it escalates.
Bullying is a strong word to use about a 4yo so maybe don't use it in the first approach. (Though others may disagree.)

I work in schools doing pastoral care.

Speak to teacher and let her know what's happening.

Your ds may not be bothered but he has a right not to be hurt and they have a responsibility to support your ds so he isn't being hurt and support the girl by finding out the cause of her behaviours and preventing them.

Sounds like mum could do with the school being proactive here too.

Just a simple conversation could change so much for the positive.
