Teacher involvement on Facebook

Hi hoping you might be able to clear this up?

Noticed on Facebook recently that a parent has accused my friend’s child of picking on their child - doesn’t mention the name but might as well have. I happen to know that it’s not true whatsoever and feel the parent is actually being a bully themselves by targeting this quiet and shy kid but I have noticed that a teacher from the school has commented on the post.

Is this allowed? I was pretty surprised. I mean, maybe they’re friends but that’s deep water isn’t it?

I think it totally depends on what was said.

If it was something like “let’s discuss this at school” then I’d be inclined to feel she felt compelled to diffuse the situation online & sort out any concerns in person.

If it was an opinionated comment then I would definitely speak to school. It’s not acceptable. All schools will have a policy on social media usage.

Thanks. It was supportive of what the parent was saying to a point. I would question why the teacher felt the need to comment at all.
I know it has concerned my friend as they think it might cause bias without even knowing details.
Thanks for your thoughts.
