I used a breast pump a couple of years ago at the hospital when we had to stay in when my daughter had jaundice. It was amazing. I am now pregnant again and wondered if anyone know what pump it is. So I can try and purchase one. It was an NHS hospital in England.

It was Medela in my hospital, I believe the model is symphony. I ended up hiring one, it was all so easy.

Thank you! I think that’s the one I’ve been racking my brain for days.

I think when I was in hospital it was an Ardo. I already had a Medela swing at home but when I got home I felt it was inferior and got the Ardo double electric pump instead and it was great in my opinion. My friend who kept using the Medela swing found mould inside and if I recall that was because it was an "open system" meaning that milk could make contact with the machinery whereas my hospital grade one didn't have this issue because it was a closed system. So even if you go for Medela I'd consider looking for a closed system.

Yes to the Medela symphony which is the one that hospitals seem to use - the big yellow closed system ones. They are very expensive to buy, but you can rent them from various outlets if you only want one for a few weeks/months after birth.
