New to this site ! Was wondering if anyone could advise a decent breast pump atall ? I do have a manual one but find it takes me forever to get the smallest amount ! Iv had a look online but I feel completely overwhelmed with the choice that’s out there ! Any recommendations & reviews would be greatly appreciated ! Thankyou 😊

Hi!

My little one is four months old. I'm an exclusive pumper through circumstance - he was premature and on a ventilator so couldn't feel directly.

I've done a lot of pumping research and lots of trial and error over the last few months!

You need a decent primary pump and a wearable if you want to wear them on the go.

For a primary pump, I'd recommend the spectra S1 or the baby buddha. For a wearable, the Eufy S1 is the best.

Flange size is everything - order a flange set and inserts from Amazon, it's essential to ensure you're maximising your output.

Momcozy are very heavily marketed but not very good. Medela pumps don't have a good reputation. I'd stay away from Elvie too.

The most important thing to remember is that those pump and pour videos you see on tiktok make you feel like you're an "undersupplied", but actually, if you're pumping instead of a feed, then around 60-90ml combined is a totally normal amount. If you're also directly breastfeeding, then don't expect more that 15-30ml if you pump after a feed.

Good luck with your little one!

hey ! Thankyou so much for your advice this is really helpful 🙂 I am breastfeeding my 7 week old & was until recently giving my baby formula to top her up as she didn’t seem to be satisfied with just my milk 😔 but Iv found formula is making her constipated I went to the doctor he mentioned a possible milk allergy he gave me the aptimil pepti but this milk she won’t really drink Iv decided just trying just soley breastfeed but need to be able to pump decent amounts so i can let myself have a break & she can go to see family I’m just finding the whole situation overwhelming hoping to try get us into some sort of routine that works for us both .
