Exclusively Pumping From Birth?

Hello all, just needed some advice really!
I'm pregnant with my first and was looking into the idea of exclusively pumping from birth - I have seen some mixed things on this and not sure what the stance is of the NHS on this. Does anyone have any advice on how possible this is, pros and cons, best pumps available etc.
Any help or advice greatly appreciated!

I don't have advice but loads of American mums do this because their maternity leave is so awful that they are forced to pump from the start. There are loads of Instagram pages devoted to it with tips and advice so I would have a look there. Good luck and all the best with your pregnancy and beyond!

What are your reasons?
Pumping exclusively is really difficult and combines the downsides of both breastfeeding and bottle feeding with the benefits of neither. Well, I suppose someone else can feed the baby. But you spend the time pumping, not holding your baby and then all the equipment has to be washed etc

Breastfeeding has a steeper learning curve but then gets easy. Bottle feeding is always easy but is a total faff.

I only know of one person who did this, because her husband was disabled and she needed to be able to give the baby to another family member to feed at specific times.

Actually and one other whose baby was born prematurely and wouldn't take to the boob

Definitely a big thing in America, not so much in the IK where most Mums get a few months off with their LO.

I'd have a think about why you want to exclusively pump OP. Obviously BM is nutritionally superior to formula plus it helps with immunology but pumping can be extremely time consuming plus you will be missing out on the benefits yourself like not having to worry about taking out bottles whenever you leave the house.

You may get an extremely easy baby and it will all be fine but my first barely slept, if I'd had to fit in pumping I think I would have not coped at all.
