Leaking overnight through pads

I have a 2WO and am expressing milk and bottle feeding. I have an oversupply of milk so really trying to reduce the amount of time I'm pumping and how often. Overnight I'm only pumping once, however I am leaking through my nipple pads and bra and waking up soaked in milk. Currently considering using a sanitary towel instead of nipple pads!! Any suggestions to help me would be great!!

I was like this, it took until my supply was regulated to get better, no advice except what pads are you using? I found the Lansinoh ones the only ones that wouldnt leak (hold loads more liquid than a pad!)

How long did it take to regulate your supply roughly? I've just expressed for 10 minutes and got 16oz!!! My freezer is stocked up and my baby is only 2 weeks old. Thinking of looking into milk donation to the hospital

I ended up using nappies, it helped that DS grew quickly so I had a stack of of ones to get through

I may have to try nappies, I'm fed up of having to wash bedding and pyjamas every single day! 😪

I also used nappies. Fits boobs shape well and you don't wake up wet. I used them at home and then swapped to two pairs of nipple pads during the day.

What’s the reason you are pumping? The more milk you remove from the breast the more it will produce. So it’s not recommended to pump at all when struggling with oversupply. Also look up block feeding - helped me to deal with oversupply. Or better yet speak to a lactation consultant, there’s a national breastfeeding helpline available free of charge.

I'm exclusively pumping then bottle feeding at milk times, I have large breasts so conscious of getting them out to feed (I know I shouldn't but it's how I feel) and when I tried to BF I felt like I was suffocating my baby! Thank you will look that up

Oh I see! Sounds like a complex situation so I would definitely recommend to discuss with a trained person to explore what you could do to help leaking etc. Really well done for sticking with pumping, it can’t be easy xxx I wish you all the best

I'm a breastfeeding support worker and we support loads of ladies with larger breasts so you're not alone. Pumping exclusively is so much extra work and all credit to you for this gift for your baby!

If you're going to be using cloth nappies then boosters in a nursing bra are soft comfortable and washable. Lanisoh also do washable breast pads but they won't be sufficient just yet.

Also, this may not be relevant to you if pumping works best for you anyway but I just remembered I had similar worries about suffocating baby with breasts and apparently it requires air from breathing for the baby to create suction. So if the baby is latched and sucking it automatically means they are breathing and you are not suffocating them. Apologies if im not explaining it very well

Put 2/3 pads in every time you're up feeding surely baby is feeding every 1/2 hour overnight ? If not I'd wake them instead of pumping
