Thrush and fussy baby - tell me there is hope!

Hello Fellow Mothers,
I have an extremely fussy 6 weeks old DD - I swear, she fits the description

I'm pretty sure we have thrush (I just diagnosed us based on my research on the net, presenting 90% of the symptoms) and also read that this makes babies fussy.

I'm going to my GP on Tuesday and will ask him for treatment of thrush, but until then looking for a bit of hope: anyone out there whose fussy baby turned out to be an angel after treatment of thrush?

My DD isn't just fussy at feedings (least fussy at feedings actually), but mostly in the evenings and generally: she cries a lot, loves to be held, I can't put her down for a minute and putting her asleep is a challenge every time. I can't go anywhere with her because she screams my head off anytime, anywhere for no apparent reason. I'm desperate for improvement...!

I also heard of fussy babies improving after the first three months. I'm wondering: How much improvement can I expect then - and how much hope is there for improvement anyway?

Tell me there is hope!

Thanks for any comment in advance.

It sounds to me like colic I am afraid ds had this it cleared at about 4months and then he was a really easy baby sleeping through and everything, try a warm bath in her crying period it worked for us and some infacol. Chin up things will improve soon

DD and I had thrush. Doctor prescribed Nystatin for DD which was useless. Dactarin oral gel works much better and faster.

the thrush made DD who is normally a very placid baby, very fussy but only at feedings. She was otherwise ok so am not sure that the other symptoms you describe could be related to thrush.

i agree with slushy that it does sound like colic.

Many thanks for the advice, ladies. Will ask GP for Dactarin and get a load of infacol, it might save us.
And the chin is now up
Cheers,
R
