Sorry, not tried but wanted to bump for you. I can't see how it would help though as reflux is due to a weak muscle at the top of the stomach (which improves with age) and not anything to do with dairy. Why do you want to try it?

Reflux and dairy intolerance often linked. I had success giving up dairy with dd who was milk intolerant and also suffered from silent reflux. Giving up dairy far more helpful than any medication.

Me too, DD2 has cows milk intolerance, made a huge difference to her colic and reflux once the dairy proteins were cleared from my system. It does take up to two weeks to clear properly, so don't expect instant results, hang in there and wait.

I did it for 6 months and it did not help my ds. I was always afraid to go back to dairy once I'd stopped IYSWIM and I wish I hadn't persevered for so long. If I had my time again I would reintroduce dairy to my diet after a month or so and if it still didn't make much difference, go back to a normal diet.

The only thing that really helped was time with my ds, he grew out of it by about 8 months I think.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Thanks everyone.
I've read it's about 50/50 who it is a factor for and who it isn;t.
He is on medication too, but I am trying everything!
I thought I'd give it a month - if no change then, I'll open the cheese box again!
Fingers crossed.
Poor boy. He is having a bad evening, but still better than pre-medication.

Hi, you're probably going to do it anyway but I have found keeping a food diary and a record of how many times your baby is puking is worth doing - otherwise you end up driving yourself crazy trying to identify triggers and not being sure what's actually real and what's in your head. I have been substantially dairy and soya free for a couple of months, when I have accidentally eaten something with a milk or soya ingredient there is a 'spike' in my dd's puking (yes I actually made a graph!) So cutting these out has had a good effect, but hasn't cured it unfortunately so now she is also trying different drugs, as she has very slow weight gain. what meds is your son on? My dd was on ranatidine, but has now also been prescribed domperidone and omeprazole. No miracle effect as yet but it's only been a couple of days. They seem like pretty hardcore drugs but if one of them works it'll be worth it. Good luck with being dairy free. I've found it an excellent way to lose pregnancy weight if nothing else. Hope your ds improves soon.
