Nighttime feeding- is a Bednest worth the investment?

Just wondering if anybody has used one of these and would recommend it. I've been reading about the benefits of cosleeping for successful nighttime breastfeeding and less disturbed nights, but am not keen on having baby (who is not born yet) in bed with us. This looks like it might be the perfect solution.

Can anybody who has used one offer any advice on how to manage the transition into a normal cot, in baby's own room, once it is sleeping thought the night?

Also, how long did your baby stay in the Bednest for?

Thanks very much.

Oh - except not all of them any more. Gulliver, Leksvik, Mammut are fine - any which you can remove the fourth side.

I have a bednest, bought it from ebay and got a new mattress from littlegreensheep (one of the few places that sells the right size, the ones that come with the bednest aren't great).

DS is only 5.5 weeks but he can be settled elsewhere during the day -his rocker or large cotbed in the nursery. We just use the bednest at night when we're with him, hopefully he'll transition to sleeping in his cotbed at night later since he is sleeping there occasionally. But we'll probably put the bednest in his room first as an interim measure.

I love the bednest. So easy to keep an eye on him, put a hand on him when he needs settled and much easier to get back to sleep yourself if you've stayed in bed and just pulled baby across (even easier if in a swaddle).

BTW the bednest can be used in loads of different ways. Only the stand is connected to your bed so you can lift the cot off and bring it downstairs to use as your portable moses basket, and it folds flat enough (and comes with a zip up case) for you to travel with.

Yea I thought of needing to buy a few cots and place them at the grandparents places eventually but thought for the first few months its good to have a cot that we can bring around until we figure out how to deal with the new parenthood with distance relatives!

I think my mind is set on a bednest but they are impossible to get hold of! New stock only comes in Nov and theres some really competitive bidding on eBay - Gillmerberry you are really lucky to get hold of one. I am still working so I can't watch the bids every 5 mins...

If anyone of you have a bednest that you are willing to sell, I am all for it!!
They really need to do something with the supplier!
