My DS was an excellent feeder, and until 2 weeks ago (when he was 15 weeks) he'd survive on 5 feeds of 10 min each a day and sleep through 7pm - 6am. However, for the past week he has screamed for food after 2 hours and woke hungry during the night. I have always mixed fed, giving 1 or 2 formula feeds a day. When I give him formula, he can still last 3 hours between feeds... I wonder if he isn't getting enough milk from me. I've tried to encourage him to feed for longer than his standard 10 mins, but he's having none of it. My husband thinks I should spend the next 4-5 days expressing and feeding him the expressed milk from a bottle - in the hope that expressing will stimulaute what he thinks is low supply. I think I need to cut out the formula feed and go with the flow of feeding every 2 hours to stimualte production BUT I am worried he will get into the habit of feeding this often and I don't want him to. Does anyone have any thoughts / advice?

4 months is a classic growth spurt age so that will explain the change in feeding frequency. Ride it out using the method you want to, knowing it won't be this way forever.

Could be a growth spurt? I think I would trust your instincts and cut out the formula and just feed more often.

I don't think the frequent feeding will last forever. You'll get your lovely 7pm-6am back soon enough (no, really I'm not jealous )
