Newborn biting!

My 7-week-old DS is getting into the habit of nipping me towards the end of feeds. He can sometimes bounce around a bit too enthusiastically and pull and stretch my nipple quite forcefully, but I seem to remember that from my other 2 DC and it's only really the biting that's new.

I take him straight off, put him down and say "no biting!" quite sternly, but I really don't think at this age he'll learn that he's not to do it, can he? He's certainly been doing it more and more over the last few days, so he doesn't seem to be!

Obviously he doesn't have teeth yet so it's not as sore as it could be (I remember well from my other 2!) but it's still blinking nippy and, as I said, getting more frequent ? any ideas? Thanks!

I would say that he's not biting, he's letting the nipple slip.

At the end of the feed he's probably just a bit reluctant to let go so he lets the nipple and latch slip instead of just letting go.

DS2 done this, so as soon as he finished I would unlatch him with my little finger, then after a while he just stopped doing it.

I think just telling him 'no, please come off properly' is ok while you unlatch him. Being stern and putting him down probably won't do anything.
