Can you overfeed a bf baby?

My dd is 15 weeks old. I weighed her this morning and, in just 3 weeks, she has suddenly gained a whole load of weight. Instead of the 9th/25th centile, she's shot up to the 50th. I'm not surprised because she has a huge tummy and a double chin!

She's exclusively bf and feeds every 2 hours or so in the day and 4-6 hours at night.

Am I overfeeding her? Why has she gained all this weight?

No you are not over feeding her! She is most likely putting on weight to get ready for a growth spurt.

You are not overfeeding her - it's basically impossible to overfeed an exclusively bf baby. Her feeding sounds about normal. Not all babies follow the charts exactly - she's doing what's right for her.

Aren't double chins gorgeous on a baby?

I have a chubbler. He feeds every 2 hours or so per day, sometimes hourly (his ideal day is with breast in mouth in bed).

He looks great to me, big and cuddly. Your baby and mine are exactly the size they are supposed to be because nothing has interfered with their feeding needs.

He also does an 8 hour stretch at night!

Its fine, you can't overfed a breastfed baby. Normal to move percentiles at that stage.
