Thought it might be interesting to have a thread with links to good sites or info regarding common breastfeeding myths from people who know their stuff (eg Tiktok, Mears, Pupuce).

This is the first place I always look for breastfeeding advice - OK, second, after here!

Some fascinating articles and videos here

This one is particularly interesting - argues against so many things I've heard myself and seen written here

Excellent links! Kellymom is one of the first places I go for info too.

I found the article about unsupportive health professionals really good, exactly the kind of thing that needs to be stopped.
Why don't doctors who deal with mothers and babies need to train in common breastfeeding management skills?

Do you have a scrolly middle button on your mouse, Hercules?

Hold down CTRL and roll it back and forth - one way enlarges the text, the other makes it smaller.

Kellymom.com is great! I probably only went to it because another mnetter recommended it, but I use it loads now. I love the fact that the pages are backed up by research articles. So it's not just someone's personal opinion, and neither is it just recommending whatever approach is currently favoured by health professionals.

It was an article by Jack Newman which helped dp and I work out that ds1 was intolerant to cow's milk protein - unfortunately most health professionals still aren't aware of this possibility, or think it's solved by the so-called 'hypoallergenic' formulas. And with ds2's reflux I think I've experienced most of the points in the article you linked to. Will try not to rant about it though, as this is supposed to be a helpful thread .

Thougt it was interesting that formula is made to try to be similar to what was known about breastmilk several years ago and hasnt caught up with what is known now.
