White tongue

My DD has always had a white coating to her tongue since we got feeding sorted. Midwife checked about 3 weeks ago and said it wasn't thrush, but my dad saw yesterday and said was disgusting. It is. It has also developed small mouldy colour spots Does not wipe off and does not seem to cause her discomfort. No other patches in her mouth, and my nipples seem fine. Can go to baby clinic next week, but am starting to worry now

If it's any comfort both of my ds's always had a white coating on their tongue when they were being bf'd. It is likley to be quite normal, but if you're worried I think I'd go and just show the pharmacist at the local chemist. They should be able to recognise if it's anything out of the ordinary. I'm quite surprised that your midwife didn't mention that it's quite normal!

My three have always had white tongues, thought it was normal.

Thankyou It's all my dad's fault, he said that it was disgusting and that my tongue was never like that But then I wasn't Bfed.

So is it exclusive to Bfed babies?
And what causes it?

Both my dcs had oral thrush and it took a couple of different treatments to get rid of it. It was thick, white coating on my two.

See pictures here. My two looked like the 3rd picture on the page.

If you are not sure and you are still concerned, I would ask a pharmacist to take a look rather than leave it for another week.
