Hi Gemmastar. I am sure someone more knowledgeable will post you an answer but I thought this might help a little. If you are still wanting to feed your DD your body should produce enough Milk for her. Make sure you are drinking plenty, especially in this hot weather and try to feed her more frequently to stimulate milk production. I tried fenugreek tablets for a few months as well when my supply seemed low and I think they helped. You can buy those from most health food shops. Or you could see your GP who could also prescribe you something to help your supply. Regarding bottles, my DD would drink water from a tommy tippee cup but wouldn't ever drink formula and so I BF her until she was 15 months. Everyone kept telling me that if she was hungry enough she would drink. So you could make sure she is really ready for a feed and ask your partner to feed her. She might not take a bottle from you if she thinks she can get something better. If your daughter isn't feeding as frequently or for as long your supply will respond to the demand. Try not to worry. Failing that, ring your HV and ask for some advice. Good luck.x

hi gemmastar

im having the same problem with my 13 week old daughter, she is breastfed but introduced the bottle when she was about 1 month old all went well for about 3 weeks she was taking expressed milk and formula then she just stopped and now wont touch either out the bottle, i really want to get her off the breast and struggling, its so hard she definately knows what she wants, its just a screaming fit if i try with the bottle. Your body should produce milk on demand, i have seen somewhere not to let your baby be to hungry before trying the bottle and also if you try the bottle and she doesn't take it then dont offer the breast straight after as its like a reward babies are very clever she will soon realise that if she doesnt take the bottle she gets the good stuff anyway. I am going to try the cup soon wish me luck, to be honest this experience has put me off BF another baby. good luck
