Camping with bottle fed baby. Can you make up bottles with evian or other bottled water? ?

HI
Going camping with 2 month old who is bottle fed. Just working out logistics - have steri bottles but wondering if I can make up bottles with powder and bottled water eg evian instead of cooled boiled. Do you reckon it is 'sterile' enough? I know cooled boiled isn't really sterile anyway.
Don't want to use those little cartons the whole time as am convinced they've got something in them that upsets babies guts if used for every feed.

Advice appreciated?

I know it isn't recommended here in the UK, but iirc bottled water is commonly used in mainland europe. Your DC may have a runny bottom or another reaction though.

I seem to remember that bottled water may have too much sodium, so not good for making up bottles. probably better to use cartons of formula in my opinion.

No you shouldn't use bottled water. It isn't sterile and too many minerals.

no, and it needs to be made up with water over 70 degrees anyway, so you're just as well to heat the water in a pan and use it tbh

otherwise i'd use the cartons

We were recently in Spain and found that some brands of bottled water advertise themselves as being suitable for babies (to do with sodium levels). you shouldn't use any old bottled water.
But if in the UK you may as well us boiled tap water.
BTW, we have always used the cartons for dd (she is mostly bf but has a bottle a day of formula and was ff for about a week last year when I was ill), and have never had probs with them.

The cartons are sterile. Powder is not, so you need to boil the water to 70 degrees as you would at home if using powdered milk. It is not advisable to use bottled water as the mineral content is not suitable for babies. Tap water is regulated.

If you notice your babe gets a tummy upset after using a carton it could be a brand thing?
Ask your HV for advice...

I feel for you as bottle feeding and camping is a real drag :-(

even if you did use bottled water you would still have to boil it before making up the powder. I would take the cartons as it would be much less hassle.
