Still hiccuping at 15 weeks

DD has hiccuped a lot ever since she was born. I had thought that it might have become a bit less frequent now, but she still hiccups after a lot of feeds - sometimes twice a day or more. I know that there isn't really very much I can do about hiccups, but wondered if there is something about her feeding that is causing it? She is bottle fed, and does take quite a lot for her age at any one sitting (around 200 ml). I would hate to think that I was causing her hiccups!

DS is six months and still gets them.

Hiccups are related to wind - are you breaking off half way through a feed to wind her or just at the end? A bit of gripe water tends to help here - I don't like giving it off a spoon so dip his dummy in it.

HTH.

I try to wind her 2-3 times during her feed as well as at the end and she does burp, but it still doesn't seem to stop her getting them :-( Might give gripe water a try.

i gave gripe water with a little syringe from the chemist for about 50p....aimed it into the cheek then it doesnt fly out!!

Do the hiccups bother her? If not, no need to worry, I would say. My DD hiccupped so much, both in the womb and out, and is still hiccuping away (albeit less frequently) at the grand old age of 2 years. It doesn't seem to bother her...

They don't seem to bother her too much, but I suppose I'm concerned that they might be a sign that she is feeding too quickly/we are not winding her well enough. But it sounds like some babies just get them and there's not much we can do about it! She did hiccup a lot in the womb :-)
