I'm currently bf 4 month twins with a ff at bed time, I occasionally give a ff at lunchtime too if we're out all day otherwise all i'd see would be cafes/bf rooms.

To be honest, I'm not enjoying it & I'm really struggling to keep going to 6 months as Idid with dd1. I'm fed up with not being able to leave them for more than an 1.5 hrs without a ff & I my ds is still feeding 3 times a night. Honestly its my ds not dd thats making me feel like this- dd feeds quickly & sleeps through the night & goes 3 hrs during the day. Ds fidgits & fusses, takes ages to feed & wont go more than 1.5 hrs during the day plus 3 night feeds. he will take a bottle much quicker & go 3 hrs between feeds though. my dd1 is struggling for my attention amongst all of this & i'm sinking as i'm becomming more house bound as it doesnt feel worth going out to see dd1 fed up in yet another place where i have to feed.

Anyway after all this rambling, with the threads saying any ff negates alot of the benefits of bf wwyd? should i just give up? or is it worth it to carry on for the next 2 months? I want to give them the best start but feel like i'm at braking point & need some motivation.

I breastfed twins too and I know it's a bit harder - can't really do simultaneous feeds discretely! I'm sure they'll benefit from longer breastfeeding though. After all breastfeeding is beneficial all the way up to 2 years old, long after children start eating a variety of foods. You'll save a lot of money not buying loads of formula too.

I gave up breastfeeding my twins at 10 months - at the time I thought there was no nutritional benefit after 12 months so they were only missing out on 2 months worth, but I do wish I'd done a bit longer.

I think its dd1 as well- i have to weigh up whats best for her as well & at the moment she's starting to get fed up with mummy not being able to play in the garden etc all the time as I'm feeding. I'm just stuck trying to find a way that all 3 children are happy & healthy.

Pretty sure ff doesn't negate all the benefits of breastfeeding, so if I were you I would probably just reduce the number of breastfeeds by one or two first and see if that helps at all. Well done for getting this far! In a couple of months you'll be starting solids and I found that so much easier with one so hopefully it will be for you too.
