It seems my 5 month old may be allergic to both of these - can I buy suitable formula for her in the uk or do I need a doctor's prescription?

Usually by prescription but Boots Pharmacy and smaller independent pharmacies may order it for you, it is pricey.

You can buy them off the shelf but they are extremely expensive. Your best bet is to talk to the GP who will most likely prescribe you Pepti or Nutramigen and if she doesn't tolerate them then Neocate.

Thank you. It's actually for when I visit the uk so won't have a doctor's prescription, but was trying to work out if I could escape lugging formula with me in my suitcase and just buy it there, especially as I don't know how much I'll be using as she's still exclusively breastfed at the mo.

Do you know if all three of the brands mentioned are available OTC (if I preorder them)?
